Stress is the main reason that disturbs the mental and physical life of a lady. We listen from most of the females complaining about their painful menses but they ignore them. They don’t know that it is also an issue of concern. In medical term, painful menses is known as “Dysmenorrhoea”. As per Ayurvedic point of view, Dysmenorrhoea is “kashten pravartanam” (Kashtartava) in which the word “Kashta” means difficult, painful, and troublesome. Kahtartava is considered as a symptom of various yonivyapadas. According to Acharya Shushruta “Vipluta yonivyapada” is a painful menses condition that occurs due to more aggravation of Vata dosha.

मिथ्यााचरेणया: स्त्रीणांप्रदुष्टेनाआर्तवेनच।जायन्तेबीजदोषाच्चदेवाच्चऋणुता: पृथक। (सु. उ३८ /५ )

The shloka given by Acharya “Shushruta” said that all twenty types of yonivyapada (female reproductive disorders) are produced due to wrong eating and lifestyle habits of a female, parent’s genetic disorders, and doing wrong things.

उदावर्त्ततथाबन्ध्याविप्लुताचपरिप्लुता।वातलाचेतिवतोत्था: पित्तोतथारुधिरक्षरा। (सु. उ३८/६ )

This shloka of Acharya Shushruta explains that udavart, bandhya, vipluta, pripluta, and vatala are five type of yonivyapada that are caused due to the aggravation of Vata dosha in the body. Rudhirkshara is due to Pitta dosha aggravation.

बन्ध्यामनष्टआर्त्तवांविद्यादविप्लुतांनित्यवेदनाम। (सु. उ३८ /१०)
